Chandrima the soothing voice from the valleys of Assam, in early days got her formal training in classical music from Dr Manjulika Hazarika of Lucknow Gharana and Dr Prabal Sarma of Gwalior Gharana of Assam. In initial days Chandrima started her career and made her mark as an All India Radio artiste in Guwahati under domain of Bhajan singer. She gained her masters in music from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh in Hindustani classial music. Thereafter when she moved to the cultural city of Kolkata in pursuit of her musical career, she continued her training under the able guidance of Bidushi Smt Shipra Basu for harnessing the skills of Semi-classical musics and also received vocal training from musician Shri Goutam Ghosal. From early days, Chandrima made her niche as a performing artist taking her shows from various parts of Bengal and almost all states of India.
