Chandrima Bhattacharya is the melodious voice of the valleys of Assam, enchanting listeners across the world with her versatility and mastery in both classical and modern genres. From the early days of learning Indian classical music from the renowned Dr Manjulika Hazarika to the honing of craft master’s degree under the guidance of Bidushi Shipra Bose, the journey of one musician has been filled with accomplishments and growth. This story of hard work, dedication and passion for music has shaped the person who stands today.

 

Not only is Chandrima a passionate singer, but also multilingual. Proficient in Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and English, she has lent her voice to many regional languages, each one accomplished in its own right.

 

Chandrima’s journey to fame began when she was noticed as an All India Radio artist, and soon found herself in the spotlight of the Bengali music industry. Her big break came through her solo album “Swapna Neel” in 2006, which instantly earned her recognition as a talented singer. This was followed by her second solo album “Tribute to Legends” which was lead-in by legendary Manna Dey himself.

 

Chandrima’s versatile and enthusiastic style of singing soon saw her crisscrossing the globe from Bangladesh to the United Kingdom.

 

2012 marked a watershed moment in her career, as she treated the Londoners to her beautiful melodious voice at the London Boishakhi Bangomela and London Sharod Utsav, back to back. This was followed by repeated stellar performance at the London , Glasgow and Edinburgh in subsequent times.

 

She has not looked back ever since. Between her busy schedule working for serials, background scores being regular invitee to prestigious channels like Zee Bangla, Colours Bangla, Star Jalsha, Tara Music, Aakash Aath, Doordarshan, Betaar Bangla London, and Channel 9 of UK, she is working on ongoing Music project experimentations like “Two Poets” with Tagore and Gulzar.

 

Her most noticeable one includes a collaboration with famous singer Srabani Sen where he worked on Tagore music and its contemporary rendition. Her most recent project was an album “Amar Chokher Ghware” where she worked with two music genius, Srijato the composer and Joy Sarkar. Her latest single release in YouTube “Hajar Srote” enthralled the captivating netizens with audiovisual delight of romance under the night sky.

 

Her hardwork, flamboyance and talent has made her a familiar name in corporate and other public events of repute.
